Professor Graham Ball

Professor Graham Ball is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in the Life Sciences, with research focused on the application of AI to complex biological and healthcare challenges — including oncology and genomics. He is associated with the Royal Society of Biology and is the founder of Intelligent OMICS Ltd., where he applies advanced bioinformatics and digital modelling to connect biological data with clinical and medical insight. As Chief Scientific Officer at CognateUK, Graham provides scientific leadership for the platform's AI-aware curriculum, ensuring that all educational content is grounded in scientific rigour and aligned with responsible, real-world practice in life sciences. He was a panel member at the FutureReady Critical Review at Innovate Cambridge (February 2026), chaired by Dr Martin Reynolds, which stress-tested the programme's scientific and pedagogical foundations.
